Ballyhaunis hurlers face Oran at Bekan this evening and would appreciate support

NEWLY crowned Mayo senior hurling champions, Ballyhaunis, will tonight (Wednesday) represent the county in the Connaught club intermediate championship semifinal when they play Roscommon champions, Oran, in Bekan, at 8 p.m.

Ballyhaunis who defeated Tooreen after an epic Mayo final replay last Sunday, will be hoping to continue their winning ways against Oran who also won their county senior final last weekend after a replay.

The prize on offer is a Connaught final spot against the Galway champions, Ahascragh-Fohenagh, which will be played in Athleague next Sunday at 2 p.m.

However, Ballyhaunis won't be looking past tonight;s game as they have found out on numerous times over the past number of years the Roscommon representatives have always been a tough nut to crack for Mayo sides.

But after their great display last Sunday, Ballyhaunis, if they can repeat that performance, must be in with a great chance of getting one over on their Roscommon counterparts.

It promises to be a very tight and close game and is sure to attract a big crowd to Bekan, especially a large Ballyhaunis following.

With a big crowd behind them, Ballyhaunis can pull off another memorable victory.
