Mayo hit by Keegan injury concern

A LEG injury sustained by GAA Footballer of the Year Lee Keegan towards the end of Westport's Mayo SFC clash against Charlestown on Saturday evening is a concern for the Mayo management team.

It is understood he sustained some bruising and it will be a number of days before it can be fully assessed by the medical team attached to the Mayo senior squad.

However, the initial indications are that it won't undermine his preparations for Mayo's clash against Derry in the second round of the All-Ireland SFC qualifiers at Castlebar on July 1.

The time of the throw-in has yet to be announced and there is a strong possibility that it will be televised live.
