Top GAA referee Ciaran Branagan of Down

Down referee to take charge of Mayo's clash with Cork

DOWN'S Ciaran Branagan has been confirmed by the GAA HQ as the referee for Mayo's clash with Cork next Saturday in the All-Ireland qualifiers in Limerick.

The game takes place in the Gaelic Grounds, Limerick, with a 5 p.m. throw in.

Branagan is no stranger to refeering top games. Last year he was the man in the middle for the Connaught senior championship final replay between Galway and Roscommon which was played in Elverys MacHale Park, Castlebar.

Last September he took charge of the All-Ireland minor football championship final between Kerry and Galway. 

His assignments so far this year were the Ulster Under 21 final between Tyrone and Donegal.Â
