Rival managers happy with replay in eight days time

THE replay of the All-Ireland SFC quarterfinal between Mayo and Roscommon has been confirmed for Bank Holiday Monday in Croke Park.

Both team manager, Stephen Rochford and Kevin McStay, expressed satisfaction with the arrangements after their sides could not be separated in today's clash, the final score being Mayo 1-12, Roscommon 2-9.

Rochford said it was the only venue at which to play a match of such high profile and he expected another big crowd to attend.

Following a series in which Mayo has been forced to play extra time twice, many observers will feel the Mayo players could have done with additional week's rest.

However, Rochford said he is happy with the arrangements and looked forward to the encounter.

McStay said while the throw-in time has yet to be confirmed, he felt a 2 p.m. start would suitable supporters of both counties best.
