St. Attracta's and Rice College will go to battle again in the Connaught colleges senior A final.

Another serving of 'Curry and Rice

RICE College, Westport, have qualified for the Connaught colleges senior A football final – and will face a familiar foe in the decider.

The Westport school qualified for the final with an impressive 2-16 to 1-13 victory over St. Jarlath's, Tuam, at the Connaught Centre of Excellence, Bekan, this afternoon.

At they same time as they were dismantling the famed north Galway academy, St. Gerald's, Castlebar, were being put to the sword by St. Attracta's, Tubbercurry, at the same venue.

The Sligo lads won out on a scoreline of 3-12 to 1-07 to set up a unique pairing in the championship final. Rice College and St. Attracta's did, however, meet in the Connaught league final, which was won narrowly by St. Attracta's.

The Tubbercurry school have now qualified for their third championship final in a row. However, like Rice College, they have never claimed the senior A title.

The provincial final is due to be played on Saturday week, March 3. The Connaught winners will face the Leinster champions in the All-Ireland semi-final on March 24, with the All-Ireland decider due to be played on April 7.
