Hurling: Tooreen proved too strong for Castlebar Mitchels in the county Under 16 A hurling championship final played in McHale Park, Castlebar, last Saturday. Their nine-point win didn't look likely at the interval as they just held a one-point lead after playing with whatever wind advantage there was. However, Tooreen upped a gear after the break and proved too strong for a gallant Castlebar side. The Castlebar boys lost nothing in defeat as they battled very hard throughout but in the end they were unable to stay with their stronger opponents. Both sides settled early and were still level after 12 minutes on two points each. Daniel Cunnane and David Kenny for Tooreen and Kevin Keena (two) for
