THE following are today’s Mayo death and funeral notices.

JOHN BARRETT, BALLYCASTLE

John Barrett, Doonadoba, Ballycastle.

Sadly missed by his sister Margaret Popplewell, his nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours, relatives and friends, may he rest in peace.

Reposing took place Lynn’s Funeral Home, Killala, for visitation by neighbours and friends on Saturday July 4, from 2 p.m. until 6 p. m.

Funeral cortege will arrive to St Bridget's church, Ballycastle via Lacken Cross, Doonadoba, and Dominick St. for Mass at 12 noon on Sunday. Burial afterwards in Ballycastle cemetery.

MICKEY PALMER, WESTPORT

Mickey Palmer, St. Patrick's Terrace, Quay Road, Westport.

Predeceased by his wife Mary. Sadly missed by his daughter Patricia and her partner Dave, son Willie and grandchildren Ethan and Jenna, sister-in-law Margaret, nieces, nephews, relatives and a large circle of friends.

Private Funeral Service will take place on Monday July 6 with burial afterwards in Aughaval Cemetery.

MARY FRIEL, ISLANDEADY

Mary Friel (née McGreal), Cloggernagh, Islandeady and formerly of Letterbrock, Liscarney and late of Owenwee, Westport - peacefully, in the wonderful care of the staff at the McBride Community Nursing Unit, Westport. Beloved wife of the late John Friel. Predeceased by her sister Una, brothers Tommy and Michael. Mary will be sadly missed by her loving family Mary and Vincent (UK), Eileen O'Brien (Islandeady), son-in-law Martin, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother Joe (Australia), sisters Delia O'Reilly (Cavan), Sarah Murrihy (Castlebar), nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Due to the HSE guidelines, Mary's Funeral will be held in private. A memorial Mass to celebrate Mary's life will be announced and take place at a later date.

ANTHONY DIXON, BELMULLET

Anthony Dixon, Gortbrack and Aughadoone, Belmullet. Peacefully, at the Mayo University Hospital, Castlebar. Predeceased by his parents James and Sarah, brother John and sister Mary. He will be sadly missed by his loving sisters Margaret McDermott and Teresa, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Funeral will arrive at the Church of the Holy Family, Carne, on Monday for Funeral Mass at 12 noon, followed by burial in Tarmoncarra Cemetery. Due to H.S.E guidelines regarding the Covid–19, Anthony’s funeral will be confined to family and close friends. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated by the Dixon family at this difficult time. Memorial Mass will be held at a later date for the repose of Anthony’s soul which will be confirmed in due course.

May the gentle souls of the deceased rest in peace.
