Women's league semi-finals take centre-stage

THE Mayo Women's League semi-finals are set to get underway this weekend following an excellent league campaign with plenty of goals, quality and entertainment on show.

Manulla will be hot favourites to go all the way and with the likes of Aoife Brennan, Sadhbh Larkin, Sarah Baynes and Emma Cosgrave at their disposal, they have a team that are the envy of all in the county and are expected to get past Kiltimagh/Knock Utd over the two legs.

The other semi-final sees Castlebar Town travel to Mount Falcon to take on Conn Rangers. Castlebar's only defeats in the league phase came against Manulla and possess excellent players such as Anna Tuohy, Danielle Caldwell, Belinda Patterson and Amy and Louise Dowling. But they will have to be on their guard against the north Mayo outfit, with the likes of Alva Munnelly and Leah McHugh capable of doing damage to the best of them.

Both games kick off on Sunday morning at 10 a.m.
