Mayo hospital restored to Covid-free status

Mayo University Hospital (MUH) has been restored to Covid-free status.

That's according to the HSE's latest statistics.

It follows two days in which one confirmed case was registered at the Castlebar facility.

Nationally, there were 110 confirmed cases in Irish hospitals today and a further 110 suspected cases.

There are 12 vacant general beds at MUH and two vacant critical car beds.

Since last Sunday, the number of confirmed cases in Mayo has increased by 14 - down from 26 the previous week.

However, only a small percentage of those cases required hospitalisation.
