Sports stars backing video appeal to Mayo public to play part in Covid battle

Mayo County Council, together with the HSE and An Garda Síochána, has today launched an appeal to the Mayo public in the fight against Covid-19.

Working with well-known sports personalities, Andy Moran and Maeve Gallagher, the message is clear, every person in the county must play their individual part in order to curtail the growing trend of contracted cases.

The video, which contains stunning footage from the county, calls on the strong and resilient people of Mayo to use the pride they have in their county as the motivation to protect themselves and those they love.

The cathaoirleach of Mayo County Council, Councillor Richard Finn, outlined: “We have an opportunity here in Mayo to step up and do better in the fight against Covid-19.

“Our numbers are rising but we as individuals can all play our part in making sure they do not escalate further.”

And remember: Stay Safe, Stay Strong and, please, Stay Separate.
