Mayo Sports Partnership urges people to get up and get active

Operation Transformation is back – albeit in a different format this year – and Mayo Sports Partnership is promoting its 'get up, get out, get active' message in tandem with it.

To coincide with OT 2021, Mayo Sports Partnership has a six-week programme suitable for any beginner new to exercise or just looking to try something new.

Included are introductory yoga, pilates and strength and conditioning sessions, as well as some talks on nutrition and mindfulness plus tips on better and different walking techniques.

There will be a number of easy-to-follow fitness tests which you can do yourself both pre and post your six-week challenge, so why not get the year started on a gentle note and build a routine that you can sustain for 2021.

Registration for the full programme can be completed via Eventbrite (https://www.eventbrite.ie/e/operation-transformation-2021-tickets-135978863441), or contact Mayo Sports Partnership community sport development officer Deirdre Donnelly at dedonnelly@mayococo.ie.

This programme is part of the government's Keep Well Campaign and all participants are reminded to keep within the 5k boundaries as stated in the Covid-19 Level 5 restrictions.
