Dillon seeks views of Mayo students on Leaving Cert 2021

MAYO TD Alan Dillon is calling on students, teachers and parents to complete an online survey outlining their views on Leaving Certificate 2021.

With a great deal of uncertainty around the format a Leaving Cert might take this year, the secretary of the Fine Gael parliamentary party said he was keen to understand the views of those who would be most impacted.

“This is a very difficult time for students, their families, teachers and the entire education community. It is an important time in young people's lives, and I want to facilitate their contribution to the ongoing discussions,” Deputy Dillon said.

The survey findings will be presented to ministers and members of the Fine Gael parliamentary party 'to ensure that the voices of Mayo students are considered as discussions progress' on the Leaving Certificate.

Said Deputy Dillon: “Young people are experiencing significant upheaval at such an important stage of their lives due to this pandemic. I will continue to meet with schools and students on this matter, as I want to ensure their views are heard.”

The survey is available now and can be completed up until Monday night, February 15, at 9 p.m.
