Increase in Covid cases at Mayo University Hospital - HSE

The number of confirmed Covid cases in care at Mayo University Hospital (MUH) has increased by four to 42 in the past 24 hours.

Six new confirmed case was admitted to the Castlebar facility between 8 p.m. yesterday and 8 p.m. on February 15.

That's according to the latest HSE report from the facility compiled at 8 p.m. yesterday.

MUH's virus figures are the sixth highest in the country, the list headed by the St. James's Hospital, Dublin, with 98.

Galway University Hospital has 31 positive cases in care, up by two, while Sligo University Hospital has 14, no change.

Six new confirmed case was admitted to the Castlebar facility between 8 p.m. yesterday and 8 p.m. on February 15.

There are five suspected cases at the centre, up by two, and two confirmed cases are in the facility's ICU, no change.

Nationally, the number of hospitalised confirmed cases now stands at 813, a decrease of 36.

The number of patients in intensive care units nationally is 151, a drop of four.

There are no vacant general beds and one vacant critical care bed at MUH.

A total 22 new confirmed cases were identified in Mayo by the Health Protection Surveillance Centre yesterday evening, bringing the total to 347 for the past two weeks.

It leaves the county with a 14-day incidence rate of 265.9 - below the national average of 269.3.
