Progress on Murrisk community water connection

PROGRESS being made in relation to the Murrisk community water connection has been welcomed by Deputy Michael Ring.

He explained that yesterday (Monday), Mayo County Council Rural Water Office submitted the executive report and SDS preliminary design report to the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government with a request for funding to complete the design and construction of the proposed Murrisk community water connection.

The department confirmed receipt of the submission and they will assess it and a make a recommendation to the minister.

Said Deputy Ring: “The issue of a water connection for Murrisk has been ongoing for many years. I have worked on this matter for quite some time and I am very pleased to see that it is moving in the right direction. Progress is being made and the application is in the department.

“I wish to commend the hard-working committee, under the excellent stewardship of Chris Grady.

“I will be making contact with the minister to press on him the urgency of dealing with this submission as soon as possible.”
