Debut album imminent from Mayo's Train Room

The wait is almost over as Train Room's debut album will be pulling into the station on August 20.

That's the scheduled release date for Hurricane of Love by Balla native Joe Monaghan, who performs under the Train Room moniker

To celebrate, an album launch will be held at one of Dublin's best live venues – The Grand Social – on August 19, and there will also be a 'home' launch in Garbo's in Castlebar on August 21.

Joe recorded the album throughout the last year. It is completely self-funded and self-produced, and will be preceded by the single 'Delicate Bones' via independent release on July 9.

“The singer-songwriter genre is something that is awash with musicians that all sound like monotonous clones of each other. Train Room really excel when trying to avoid the generalisation by adding in other instruments and creating more complete sound,” said Golden Plec.

High praise indeed. The Train Room express is gathering pace; hop on and enjoy the ride.
