Classroom extension for east Mayo school gone to tender

Fine Gael TD, Alan Dillon, has welcomed confirmation that Culmore National School, Cloonaghboy Swinford has proceeded to tender for a proposed new classroom extension.

The approval to proceed to tender for the additional classroom at the school will include alterations to the existing building and associated site and improvement works.

Deputy Dillon stated: "I am pleased to learn that Culmore National School have been sanctioned approval to proceed to tender for an additional classroom extension complete with all associated alterations. This will greatly enhance the facilities at the school and benefit the approximate 44 students attending the school."

Deputy Dillon added: "It is great to see progress being made with this approval. I wish Principal Hazel Cosgrove, Amy Muldowney, Teaching Deputy Principal, Rachael Lyons, Special Education Teacher, Valerie Cunnane, Secretary and students every continued success for the future. Once the tender is awarded, the successful contractor will need to be approved to proceed to construction and I will work to ensure this happens without delay."
