Mayo wind farm operators seek road alterations

The developers of a wind farm in north Mayo are proposing temporary road alterations to facilitate delivery of materials to the site.

ABO Wind Ireland Ltd. are seeking a five-year permission for the development of a temporary turning head at the R312 and R317 junction in Beltra.

It is required to facilitate the delivery of turbine components to the consented Sheskin wind farm.

Locally sourced gravel will be used to widen the junction so delivery vehicles can perform a turning manoeuvre.

The land required for the turning head will be reinstated shortly after the turbine components have been delivered, the application to Mayo County Council states.
