Arrival of Christmas season celebrated in Mayo's county town

The Christmas season is underway in Castlebar.

Festive lights have been switched on at the Mall, Market Square, Main Street, Linenhall Street, Ellison Street, Castle Street, Rush Street, New Antrim Street, Hopkins Road and Spencer Street.

As the retail sector looks forward to a busy period, the message is to shop local in order to support businesses and sustained jobs in the community.
