Gardaí probing Mayo Greenway incident

Gardaí in Mayo are continuing their investigations into an incident that occurred on a section of the Greenway in Westport.

A man was assaulted and robbed by a group in the vicinity of the Quay in the town on Saturday night.

A garda spokesperson told The Connaught Telegraph that a sum of cash was taken from the victim of the attack.

A definite line of enquiry is being followed, the spokesperson added.

The incident has angered the local community which is proud of its tourism amenities.
