Cheers as restrictions on Mayo hospitality sector being lifted tomorrow

The government has agreed to lift restrictions on hospitality, gatherings and nightclubs from tomorrow.

Social distancing and the Covid pass requirement also comes to an end.

The Covid pass will, however, still be needed for international travel.

Mask wearing remains in place in shops and other indoor settings..

The chairman of Mayo Vintners, Alan Gielty, told Midwest Radio he is delighted that normality is finally on the way back.

Alan, who runs a pub and restaurant at Dooagh, Achill Island, said that after 22 months, it's a bright light at the end of a long tunnel.
