New classroom approved for central Mayo national school

The proposed new classroom extension, sensory garden, play area and parking spaces for Balla National School has proceed to the tender stage.

Welcoming the news, Deputy Alan Dillon stated: "I am pleased to learn that Balla National School have been sanctioned approval to proceed to tender for onsite services.

"The school has been approved for a general classroom, a SET room, two SEN base classrooms, as well as a user assisted WC, while external works include a soft play area and sensory garden.

"This extension will greatly enhance the existing facilities at the school and benefit the approximate 180 students who attend.

"It is great to see progress being made with this approval. I wish principal Alma Egan, the board of management, its staff and students every continued success for the future."
