Extension approved for Islandeady school

SAINT Paul's National School in Islandeady has been approved for a new classroom extension and two special education classrooms.

The project also includes a special education teaching room and a user assisted WC.

Welcoming the news, Deputy Alan Dillon said: “This is great news for the popular Islandeady school. I wish principal Donna Cafferkey, the board of management, staff and students every continued success for the future.”

Deputy Michael Ring also welcomed confirmation of the extension under the Additional Accommodation Scheme from the Department of Education and Skills.

He commented: “This extension is very welcome news for the pupils and staff of St. Paul’s NS. It will greatly enhance their capacity.

“The Additional Accommodation Scheme is an important programme which improves the quality of school buildings and helps them to expand their capacity.”
