Highlights of a truly memorable Mayo Day

Castlebar was a hub of activity yesterday as large numbers descended on the county town to celebrate Mayo Day 2022.

An organising committee headed by Mayo County Council put together a wide and varied programme of events at the Mall, the military barracks, Lough Lannagh, Pavilion Road car park, Market Square and Linenhall Arts Centre to celebrate the occasion.

Despite rain falling for much of the day, it did not deter people from enjoying themselves and experiencing so much that is wonderful about Mayo's culture, heritage, arts, music and song.
