Time to deliver a Family Resource Centre to Erris – Mayo TD

Mayo TD Rose Conway-Walsh is to meet with the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth, Roderic O'Gorman, to make the case for a family resource centre for Erris.

She said: “It is imperative that we secure a Family and Community Resource Centre for the locality.

"Tusla are currently conducting a review of family resource provision across the state and I would urge them to look closely at needs in north Mayo.

“People have been working incredibility hard for 10 years to try and make this a reality.

“The steering group have now produced a strategic plan and rationale document.

“Erris is one of the most beautiful places in the country, however there is also real disadvantage.

"Many in the community have to travel long distances to access services that other areas may take for granted.

“A family resource centre would ensure that the people of Erris have local access to community, mental health and wellbeing supports and services.

“Now is the time for this project to be delivered.”
