Culture Night returns to Mayo with a programme of free in-person and online cultural events, running from 4 p.m. until late today (Friday).

There are over 35 free cultural events taking place across Mayo.

The following whistlestop tour of the Mayo programme will give audiences a flavour of what is in store on September 23.

Achill offers song, circus, spoken word, comedy, a traditional music bus tour and a pub quiz.

Ballina will be bursting with music, song, dance, exhibitions, talks and artwork.

Ballinrobe offers a myriad of culture with food from the local community on offer.

Ballintubber Abbey will resound with music from their choir.

Ballycastle has events for 12- to 16-year-olds and art tours open to all.

Ballyhaunis promises art, food, music and dance.

Belmullet offers a multi-cultural welcome to all nationalities in the area.

In Castlebar, find out more about your genealogy, hear all styles of music from movies from Shrek to rock music, listen to bilingual (French) storytelling or get creative at one of the art workshops.

There is a night of music in the Linenhall Arts Centre in association with Music West and Music Generation Mayo.

Starting at 8 p.m., it features the Mayo Harp Ensemble, MG Uilleann Pipes, The Westerlies, Connaught Quartet, Rolling Waves CCE, Castlebar Concert Band and The Lunar Ticks.

Claremorris offers art, food, music, dance and folk stories.

Charlestown has an art exhibition, music, dance, poetry and song.

There are also online events where Ballyhaunis Social Inclusion are launching a music video, Mayo Traveller Support have a cultural podcast and Admiral Brown Comhaltas, Foxford, have music, song and dance online.
