The Pogues unplugged at intimate Mayo venue

THE Irish Folk Music School in Glenisland have announced the details of their latest show.

Fans of the Pogues will be in for a treat as the Shane McGowan Appreciation Society will present a unique performance in the 150 year old primary school in Glenisland on Saturday, December 3.

It's a really great night of music coming up, and this promises to be a special gig with some of the most cherished ballads ever written like "Rainy Night in Soho" and "A Pair of Brown Eyes" along with high energy tunes like "Sally McLennan" and "The Sickbed of CuChulainn" and given the time of year maybe even a little known Christmas song.

As usual this is an alcohol free event with freshly ground coffee and tea served on arrival. The doors open at 7:30 and the gig starts at 8 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early for a look around the school and welcome to have a go at the variety of instruments on show.
