Mayo club claim FAI Club Mark award

Conn Rangers FC are the latest club in Mayo to be awarded an FAI Club Mark award after fantastic work from the north Mayo-based club.

Formed back in 1970, Conn Rangers is a club based in the parish of Knockmore and has became the centre-point of their community in the county having found a permanent home in Mount Falcon.

The club has enjoyed plenty of success, especially in its recent history with a Premier Cup in 2019, a Women's Cup in 2021, a Connacht Gold shield in 2013 and a Connacht Under 16 shield in 2016, whilst the club has won the Premier League twice, in 2003 and 2014.

The club has continued to grow over the years putting greater demand on facilities so the club has ambitious plans for additional dressing rooms and the development of an all-weather astro-pitch to bring the club to the next level.

On the pitch, Conn Rangers has enjoyed seeing their senior team promoted back to the Super League last season whilst off the pitch, participation numbers and community engagement continues to grow.

"It's great to see Conn Rangers claim their FAI Club Mark Entry Level award and a huge well done to all of the club volunteers and officials who made it happen," said FAI development officer Nigel Naughton.

"Whilst they've enjoyed a significant amount of success on the pitch, the club has become a real community focus over the years and has really developed to become a key aspect of the local community.

"What is great to see about the club is that their fantastic group of volunteers and officials are already looking at claiming the One Star award and it is great to work with a group which is so driven and determined to continue their progression."
