Mayo community mourns passing of popular personality

The death has occurred of Dominic Reddington, Kinturk Upper, Ballyheane, and late of Cushendall, Co. Antrim.

He died unexpectedly at University Hospital Galway on Thursday and the news evoked a tremendous sense of loss.

The deceased, a popular and affable personality, was a member of the driving staff at Shortall International Transport, Moate.

In a tribute, his employers described him as a loyal and very dedicated worker.

Predeceased by his parents John and Lilly, he is deeply regretted by his loving family: Katie, Sadhbh and Finn and their mother Roisín, brothers John and Jim, sisters Brenda, Deirdre and Audrey, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Deepest sympathy is extended to the Reddington and Horkan families on their loss.

Remains will be reposing at his residence in Ballyheane (F23 XW44) on Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m.

Removal from his residence on Wednesday morning at 10.45 a.m. for Funeral Mass at 11.30 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, Ballyheane.

Dominic will be laid to rest afterwards in Ballyheane Cemetery.
