Funding announced for west Mayo school

FUNDING has been announced for emergency works at a west Mayo school.

The Department of Education has confirmed that funding has been approved for emergency works at Killeen National School in Louisburgh.

The works are for external environment projects at the school.

Welcoming the news, Deputy Michael Ring commented: “I look forward to the works being completed as quickly as possible for the health and safety of the pupils and teachers in this school.”

Deputy Alan Dillon complimented school principal Brid Grady and her staff for the work they are doing to ensure the future of the school and he wished the 75 pupils a successful future.

“Hopefully these works will get under way soon,” said Deputy Dillon.
