Draft Mayo heritage plan to go on public display

A DRAFT heritage plan for Mayo will be going on public display this June and July.

Members of the public will be invited to make submissions on the plan after Mayo County Council's heritage committee approved it going on display.

It will come back before the committee after the public consultation closes before going before a full council meeting for final ratification.

A pre-draft consultation process has taken place, where the public were invited to have an input into the plan, with 135 submissions received.

Committee cathaoirleach Councillor Michael Burke said communication and connecting with communities is very important, so they can take ownership of this document.
