Lighting up Mayo sports facilities

A NUMBER of sporting facilities in Mayo are being lit up.

Mayo County Council is considering applications for approvals for lighting at Ballina Stephenites GAA Club and also Snugboro FC.

It recently approved floodlighting for the Mayo League at Solar 21 Park in Castlebar.

The football club in Snugboro are hoping to install lighting at their all weather training area.

The GAA club in Ballina are looking to erect four 30-metre high standards for specialised 1,000 LED floodlighting at James Stephens Park.

They received planning for this development in 2010 but it wasn't completed due to the economic crisis.

The Stephenites hope to complete the project next year.
