Big homecoming this evening for Mayo world medalist Oisín Joyce

MAYO athlete Oisín Joyce will receive a big welcome home from the World Athletics Under 20 Championships in south Mayo this evening.

Oisín captured Ireland's first ever javelin medal at the Under 20 finals in Peru when he secured bronze in a thrilling final.

Lake District Athletic Club are hosting a special homecoming celebration in honour of their club member this evening (Wednesday) at 7.30 p.m. at the Lake District AC athletics track, The Green, Ballinrobe.

The club invites everyone to come together to honour Oisín and the dedication he has shown in reaching this milestone.

The celebration will include light refreshments and a chance to personally congratulate Oisín on his historic success.
