Saturday sport: Dublin progress to ladies football final, Shelbourne ease into FAI Cup third round

Dublin have come out on top against Galway in the semi-final of the All-Ireland Senior Ladies Football Championship.

After extra time, the scoreline stood at Dublin 3-14 Galway 2-14.

Olivia Divilly and Andrea Trill scored Galway's goals, while Dublin's goals came from Kate Sullivan, Carla Rowe, and Hannah Tyrrell (penalty).

Earlier, Meath dethroned Kerry in the first semi-final.

The Royals came out on top against Kerry in Tullamore with a score of 2-12 to 1-09.

Kerrie Cole scored the first goal for Meath in the 18th minute, with Sarah Wall getting the second one in the 41st.

Meanwhile, Armagh and Laois will meet in next month's All-Ireland Premier Junior Camogie final.

Aimee Collier's 2-5 helped Laois to a comfortable 4-15 to thre points win over Wicklow in the first semi-final at Breffni Park.

Rachael Merry sent over 10-points and Sinead Quinn added 1-3 from play in Armagh's 2-17 to 8-points victory against Roscommon.

Golf

Scottie Scheffler has built a commanding lead after 54 holes at golf's Open Championship.

The American is 14-under-par after signing for a round of 67 at Portrush, and he'll take a four shot advantage over the field into the final round.

Rory McIlroy has boosted his chances of landing a second Claret Jug with a superb round of 66 to move to eight-under.

Shane Lowry has revealed that he was struggling with a stomach virus during his third-round.

The 2019 winner had a triple-bogey on the 14th as he signed for 74 to fall back to three-over-par.

Lowry says he's been unwell since this morning, due to virus outbreak in his family.

Rugby

The Lions produced a dominant display against Australia to win 27-19 and move 1-0 ahead in their three-Test series.

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe says he's confident Alexander Isak will still be at the club by the time the transfer window closes.

The Sweden striker has been linked with a move this summer, with Liverpool and Arsenal reported to be interested.

Howe's also revealed that Isak was sent home after their training camp in Austria because of speculation about his future.
