Local organisations receive funding to support integration in Mayo

Minister of State Alan Dillon TD has welcomed funding of over €187,000 for eight Mayo projects under the 2025 Integration Fund.

Minister Dillon said:

“This fund supports community organisations in promoting the integration of migrants and strengthening social cohesion. The Integration Fund brings together the former International Protection Integration Fund and the Communities Integration Fund. Since their inception, these funds have provided nearly €10 million to over 1,000 projects across the country.”

The Mayo based initiatives that will benefit from this year’s funding of €187,238 are: Mayo Rape Crisis Centre – Outreach Counselling for those affected by sexual violence in rural IPAS centres, Mayo (€26,200).

South West Mayo Development Company – Pathways to Resilience (€99,988).

The Tacú Ballinrobe Family Resource Centre CLG – Bridges Through Language (€25,000).

Achill Tourism - Cooking Up a Storm (€10,000).

Ballina Arts Centre CLG - Ballina IPA Women's Project (€9,500).

Ballina Fringe Festival - Global Kitchen (€2,000).

Ballyhaunis Family Resource Centre - Ballyhaunis FRC Wider Horizons Project (€6,650).

Community Radio Castlebar - My Voice, My Story (€7,900).

Minister Dillon said: “These projects will deliver vital supports ranging from counselling services for vulnerable individuals, resilience-building programmes, and language initiatives to strengthen community connections.”

Across the country, 117 community-based projects are set to receive €3,612,974 in funding under the 2025 Integration Fund. These projects work hard to welcome new arrivals in a way that works with and for those arriving, and the communities welcoming them.

“I am pleased to see such wonderful and deserving projects right across Mayo receive this funding. It’s only through cooperation from our community that we can improve integration and make Ireland a better country to live in for everyone,” concluded Minister Dillon.
