Crews responding to burst water main in Mayo county town

UISCE Éireann crews are responding to a burst main which is affecting water supply to areas of Castlebar this lunchtime.

The burst on the Castlebar ring main has impacted supply to a number of areas of the town. The burst has been isolated to the Rowan Drive area and the outage is currently being contained.

Uisce Éireann customers in the Rowan Drive, Springfield Court and Cherrington Place areas of Castlebar may continue to experience supply disruptions this afternoon while the burst is repaired.

Colette Scahill of Uisce Éireann said crews will work as quickly as possible to repair the burst and restore supply.

“We have isolated the burst on the ring main and are now working to contain the outage and begin repairs,” she said.

“We acknowledge the inconvenience of an unplanned outage and we wish to thank impacted customers for their patience while repairs are underway.”
