Heavy rain and gusty winds forecast for Mayo this weekend

Tomorrow will be rather wet and breezy across Mayo, with further outbreaks of rain spreading through the county and turning heavy at times.

Saturday, February 21 will remain mild despite the unsettled conditions, with highest temperatures reaching between 10 and 12 degrees.

Moderate to fresh and gusty southwesterly winds will add to the blustery feel, particularly along Atlantic coastal areas.

Nationally, the outlook remains unsettled, with a westerly airflow driving spells of rain and showers eastwards across the country, along with blustery conditions.

Temperatures are set to stay milder than average for this time of year.

Saturday night will see rain clearing southeastwards early on.

While cloud will linger across southern and eastern areas, clearer spells and isolated showers are expected to develop in the north and west, including parts of Mayo.

It will remain mild overnight, with temperatures falling to between 6 and 9 degrees in moderate to fresh southwest winds.
