Mayo grieves passing of talented musician Barry Jennings
The death of Barry Jennings, 19 The Curragh, Castlebar, and formerly of Balla, has evoked a tremendous sense of loss in the community.
He died yesterday at the Mayo Hospice surrounding by his family.
Barry will be sadly missed by his loving wife Catherine (Ca), parents Mary and Tom (Balla), sister Sharon Hughes (Don), brother Paul (Kerry), father-in-Law Chris Kennedy, brothers in-law John and Brian, sister in-law Christine, aunts, uncles, nieces Mia and Chloe and nephew Aaron, cousins, all the family circle and close friends.
Deepest sympathy is extended to the bereaved family on their loss.
An accomplished musician and singer, fond tributes are being paid to him on social media.
"A lovely, talented young man taken from this world far too soon," one stated.
"I will always remember those great nights out in Balla when we used to go and see his band play," another said.
"He put up a serious battle (against illness) and will be sadly missed," a further tribute stated.
Barry will repose at Kilcoyne’s Funeral home, Castlebar, on Wednesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m.
A celebration of Barry’s life will be held in Balla Community Hall on Thursday at 2 p.m.
Those attending are asked to to wear football jerseys, GAA jerseys and bright colours.
Private cremation takes place on Friday morning in Shannon Crematorium.
