Launch of Andy Moran's book 'Andy - Lessons Learned in Pursuit of Glory'
Former GAA ace and twice All-Star recipient Andy Moran has had a very successful launch of his book, 'Andy - Lessons Learned in Pursuit of Glory,' in the Royal Theatre Castlebar.
A big crowd turned out at the event with the launch performed by Tom Parsons, chief executive officer of the Gaelic Players Association.
It was a memorable occasion for Mayo GAA fans and many fine football stories were recalled by a panel which included former Mayo stars David Clarke, Keith Higgins and Donal Vaughan.
Co-written by journalist Colin Sheridan, a native of Balla, the book promises to be a big seller over the coming weeks.
It is available at all local outlets and can also be purchased online at https://www.Mayobooks.ie/
The is a book about Mayo football - the agony and the ecstasy, the near misses, the friendships, but it has a much broader canvas.
It tells us how sport can influence every aspect of a players life; of how the game of football moulded the writer himself; of the life lessons that sport teaches all of us; and how a good coach can have a life-changing influence on a young athlete.
It is also an homage to his native Mayo, a county that has captivated the country season after season through daring deeds and epic comebacks, all in the pursuit of glory.
