Londis Castlebar named Forecourt Retailer of the Year

Casey’s Londis, Castlebar, beat off competition from hundreds of local convenience store entrants across Ireland to be named Forecourt Retailer of the Year (small) at the prestigious ShelfLife C-Store Awards awards ceremony, earning the accolade of Best of the Best in their category.

Under the careful eye of Operations Manager David Tarrant, Londis Castlebar is a purpose built state-of-the-art fuel forecourt, convenience store and food court and a pristine example of the best in convenience and neighbourhood retailing, incorporating the very best in terms of product offering, store hygiene and customer service.

Casey’s Londis Castlebar is owned and operated by Gerry Casey and Terry McShane and is part of the Casey Group, which operates stores in Ballina, Limerick, Galway and Newbridge, providing employment to nearly 200 people nationwide.

Congratulating the Mayo store, Conor Hayes, Londis Sales director, said: “We extend our congratulations to the team at Casey’s Londis on winning this prestigious national title.

“It is their relentless drive and ambition that sets them apart from their peers in a marketplace which is already internationally recognised as setting the standards in convenience retailing. The store and staff are very deserving of this industry accolade and they are great champions for the Londis brand.”

Receiving the award, Gerry Casey said, “We’re proud and delighted to have received this award because it provides valuable recognition from the industry experts that our business is best in class, which is a great mark of confidence for our staff and of course, our customers, and it spurs us on to keep improving all the time.”

The ShelfLife C-Store Awards, now in their 18th year, was set up to acknowledge stores and individuals that set the standards for the industry.
