Weekend warning issued to roads users in Mayo

A weekend warning has been issued to roads users in Mayo.

From next Sunday, January 6, the first of the wind farm blades are being transported from Killybegs Harbour. The blades are 200 ft. long.

The hauliers, accompanied by a garda escort, will approach Ballina via Ardnaree before entering of the town centre en route to Crossmolina and onto Oweninny.

Local Councillor Michael Loftus said traffic restrictions will be in place on Sunday night and Monday morning.

“It is important for road users to take note in advance,” he added.

Signs have been erected along the route.

The haulage process will continue on other dates up to the end of February.
