STAFF of First Choice Credit Union in Ballyhaunis, Achill and Castlebar have been on the picket line today.
They undertook the strike after serving notice of industrial action in a dispute concerning pay, travel time and other terms and conditions.
The workers had rejected a Labour Court recommendation aimed at resolving the impasse.
SIPTU Sector Organiser Pat Flannery said discussions have taken place with management and some progress has been made, so further action has been suspended pending further discussions.
A spokesperson for First Choice Credit Union said: “We met with SIPTU and shop stewards this morning in a further attempt to resolve the situation. However, this was unsuccessful.
“We remain hopeful that a solution can be found within the parameters of the Labour Court recommendations.”
