€272,000 investment in Mayo childcare

AN investment of €272,045 in capital funding is being awarded to providers of early learning and care and school age childcare in Mayo, which will lead to the creation of additional childcare places in the county.

Strand A funding (early learning and care) is for new places for 0-3 year olds and allocations here are:

Mary Corcoran €46,097

Ballintubber Community Preschool & Afterschool €50,000.


Awards under Strand C (school age), for new places for school age children, are:

Catriona Chalke and Siobhan Conway €17,000

Ballyglass Community Council €20,000

Kathleen Keane €20,000

Mairead Hastings €19,984

Sopns Before & After School & Pre School €20,000

Eileen McNeela €19,900

Crimlin National School €18,514

Dandine Limited and Breege Jackson Partnership €16,950

Robeen Community Playschool €11,042

Mary Corcoran €12,558

Minister Michael Ring said the investment is a welcome boost for parents in the county and another step towards nationwide affordable childcare provision.
