Westport is getting a new hotel

A NEW hotel is opening this year in Westport.

The Mariner is located on the site of the former Mill Times Hotel. The property is currently under refurbishment and will open this year.

A post on the Mill Times Facebook page explained: 'Westport's newest hotel, located on the site of the former Mill Times Hotel on Mill Street in Westport town, is to be called The Mariner.

'An intimate, boutique style hotel with a contemporary twist, The Mariner will offer something completely different to the current Westport market.

'Purchased in June 2019, the hotel is currently closed for refurbishment, but will reopen in style for the 2020 holiday season.

'On completion, the hotel will boast 34 thoughtfully presented bedrooms, a luxurious reception area and a classic, yet modern, bar and restaurant offering an alternative dining experience.

'We are so looking forward to presenting our new hotel to the public in the coming months.
