Tennis club showcase

CASTLEBAR Tennis Club showcased all that it has to offer at the launch of the club's calendar of events for the year ahead.

Members and non-members gathered at the tennis pavilion for the official launch on a night sponsored by Rowlands Pharmacy which included a fun pre-party tennis competition.

Section A winners were Keith McDermott and Bertha Munnelly, and runners-up were Larry Power and Diane Kellett. In Section B, Gary Hill and Orla Prendergast were winners, and Brian Healy and Noleen McCool runners-up.

For members, it was an opportunity to introduce new captains for 2018, Aran McMahon and Bernie Caulfield, and for non-members it was an opportunity to see what the tennis club has to offer.

Beginner lessons for those interested in giving tennis a bash, improvers lessons for those needing to ace those skills, and a brand new first time member rate of €100 for year one are all on offer.

The night also showcased the club’s great facilities - six top class tennis courts, of which four are indoor, a bar and hall - perfect for parties and classes, ample off-street parking and spacious changing and shower amenities.

This year’s calendar offers existing and new members alike a great opportunity to get involved in the club not only in tennis but in the great atmosphere that's always readily available at Castlebar Tennis Club.
