KFC to celebrate 10th anniversary in style

To mark the 10th anniversary ofKnockmore/Foxford Boxing Club, the club will be host of a huge inter-county tournament this Saturday night in the Great National Hotel Ballina.

The visitors will be Tyrone/Fermanagh and some cracking contests are lined up for Saturday (January 5), with over 40 contests to be boxed.

Secretary of the Mayo Boxing Board, Dara Fahey, has spent the last fortnight matching, cancelling and re-matching up boxers from both teams as evenly as possible to give every boxer the opportunity of having their hand raised.

Knockmore/Foxford Boxing Club (KFC) are delighted to have as many as eight boxers involved in the event. Stepping into the ring for KFC on the Mayo team will be Kelsey Langan, Cian Hannigan, Michael McNamara, Thomas Tuffy, Lucas Kenny, Patrick McTigue and Aaron McDonnell.

The following clubs will alos be represented: Aglish, Ardnaree, Achill, Ardagh/Crossmolina, Ballina, Ballyhaunis, Ballinrobe, Claremorris, Charlestown, Eagle, Geesala, Golden Gloves and Swinford.

The main event will commence at 1 p.m. is expected to continue until 10 p.m. Preceding the main programme will be an underage exhibition event commencing at 11.30 a.m. The Great National Hotel Ballina has stepped forward and offered full sponsorship for the entire event.
