Castlebar Celtic, Manulla, Ballina Town and Claremorris progress in Connaught Cup

CASTLEBAR Celtic, Manulla, Ballina Town and Claremorris have progressed in the TP Brennan Connaught Junior Cup this afternoon.

Two goals by Jordan Loftus inspired Celtic to a 4-1 victory over Skyvalley Rovers at Celtic Park.

Brothers Gerry and Jason Hunt were also on target for the Hoops.

Manulla had matters much their own away against Cois Farraige, winning 5-1 with goals by Ger Canavan (2), Enda McGahon, Sean Morrissey and Cian McHale.

Claremorris overcame Corrib Celtic by 5-3.

Ballina Town came from behind to force St. Peter's Athlone to extra-time away with a late equaliser by Dwayne Helly.

The Mayo Super League champions won the tie with an goal in extra-time by Benny Lavelle. What a win.

Westport United's match against Carbury, Sligo, was postponed while other results are awaited.
