Mayo pals in full voice as sharon joins tom jones team

Sharon Murphy’s weekend success in UK singing competition The Voice hit the right note in Co. Mayo where she has many friends.

In fact four of those pals - Anna Cresham, Kathleen Duffy, Ava Grady and Bernie Conway - flew out to Manchester for the weekend to cheer her on.

Sharon's spellbinding performance prompted coaches Tom Jones and Ricky Wilson to turn their chairs at the last minute.  However, all four judges had high praise for her.

On her return from Manchester, Anna said: “It was a great result for Sharon. She’s certainly going places and deserves to.”

Sharon has strong connections in Westport after living in the town for many years.
