Sunny weather set to return at weekend

GOOD weather is on the way, according to Met. Eireann.

Friday night will be mainly dry with clear spells.

But Saturday will be a fair weather day. Most places will be dry with some sunshine and afternoon temperatures of 17 to 19 degrees, the warmer temperatures most likely to be recorded inland, and it’ll be a little cooler along the coasts, with sea breezes likely during the afternoon.

Winds will be light, variable in direction or from the southwest. On Saturday night, a spell of persistent rain and drizzle will extend from the northwest and clearer, fresher weather will follow, but much of the night will be relatively mild.

Sunday will be mainly dry and bright, with sunny spells and just a few isolated showers. Temperatures will be a little lower than on Saturday but in sunshine should reach well in to the teens. Winds will be light to moderate west to northwest.

Little change is forecast for Monday, with another mainly dry day, with some sunshine and temperatures around normal for the time of year, with light westerly winds.

The further outlook to midweek is for mostly dry weather, with bright or sunny spells, temperatures around normal for the time of year, and mostly light or moderate westerly winds.
