Brian Hoban beside the new information board

New lakeside information board

FOR the hundreds who visit Lough Lannagh in Castlebar every week, their excursions are about to get even more interesting.

Thanks to Castlebar Tidy Towns, a new information board has been erected at the lake on the history of Lough Lannagh. Historical notes have been provided by local historian and tour guide Brian Hoban.

There's a ton of information under the following headings: town river, Church Lake, De Burgo tower house, ringfort, crannog, and Lough Lannagh Lodge.

Castlebar Tidy Towns also erected two information boards outlining the preferred food for the feeding of the ducks.

The local Tús workers, with leader Ed Ball, erected the signs, for which Castlebar Tidy Towns is very grateful.
