Fianna Fáil planning minority government - Calleary

MAYO Fianna Fáil Deputy Dara Calleary has revealed tonight that his party is planning to put together a minority government with the support of independents ahead of the 32nd Dáil Éireann reconvening on March 22.

Speaking at a co-option convention in Castlebar, the Ballina TD said the party has appointed a three-strong negotiating team to put the alliance together.

He stated: 'I cannot elaborate any more than that, but grassroots members will be kept informed as developments take place.'

Deputy Calleary made it clear in his address that there is no appetite within any level of the party for a coalition with Fine Gael.
